Here are the news stories that appear to be making the biggest splash over the last week:
The Catholic Archdiocese of Washington is having a stand-off with the District of Columbia. The Archdiocese warns that if the upcoming same-sex marriage law is passed then it will cut services in the district.

- Catholic Bishops Affirm Stance on Marriage (Washington Post)

Local church offers gun safety class.

The threat from the Archdiocese of Washington is beyond shameful.
Jesus could eat dinner with tax collectors and sinners, defend adulteresses from being punished, and be seen associated with all sorts of other despised groups, but the Catholic Church in D.C. will refuse to continue charitable work in a city where people of the same sex are allowed to have legally binding marriages?
What an absolute joke.
